Visa general information, for those who are planning to travel to Angola. Documentation required:
Diplomatic and official visa
- Two passport photo
- Allow 48 hours upon receipt of the passport
- A verbal note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (for Egyptians Diplomatic and Official Passport holder only). For other, a letter from the applicant's Embassy is required.
ORDINARY VISA
The ordinary visa, takes up to 15 working days to process from the day its receipt the complete requirements. For ordinary visa, the length of stay may not exceed 30 days.
All applicants must submit the following:
- Visa fee (120,00 Egyptian Pounds)
- An application form filled out in duplicate for all applicants
- Two recent passport photographs with the name on the back
- A passport valid for at least 6 months
Photocopy of the first three pages of the applicant's passport
- A letter of invitation sent by individual or institution to be contacted in Angola.
- Photocopy of round ticket and the itinerary. Proof of means of subsistence while in Angola (400,00 Egyptian Pounds) a day. (Bank Statement or letter from an employer sponsoring the travel normally is considered as a sufficient proof.)
WORK VISA
Under current regulations, the local Consular Office has been authorized to process the Ordinary, Diplomatic and Work Visas. The Work Visa must be initiated in the Country of origin. The Consular Office must send the Work Visas request to Angola.
The processing time for a Work Visa takes at least 90 working days of its receipt. The work visa is valid for two years and multiple entries are permitted. The validity of the visa may not exceed the period of the contract. The additional requirements are listed below.
- Three passport size photo
- Adequate forms filled in duplicate
- Photocopy of the Passport, valid for at least 18 months
- Photocopy of the return travel ticket, valid for one years
- Criminal clearance record
- Declaration of accordance with, and promise to abide, to the Angolan Law, with an authenticated signature of the requestor, and authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Education and professional qualifications certificate
- Clinical/medical record, attesting clearance of infectious and contagious diseases including HIV test.
- Copy of the contract addressed to the Consular services duly singed by the representative of the firm or institution employing, hiring or sponsoring the trip, with the specific reference to the job to be performed by the applicant, the duration of the engagement and assuming full financial responsibility for the applicant. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Trade must authenticate it.

RESIDENCE PERMITS/VISA
The residence visa is valid for living in Angola up to 120 days, and is renewable over an equal period until a request for permanent stay is granted. It must be used within 60 days from issuing date, and obtain it people must have the following documentation:
- Form filled in duplicate
- Two passport size photographs
- Valid passport for at least one year
- Travel ticket (return) valid for one year
- Clinical/medical record, attesting clearance of infectious and contagious diseases including HIV test.
- Declaration of accordance with, and promise to abide, to the Angolan Law, with an authenticated signature of the requestor, and authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- A comparative document of financial means of support possessed by the person
- Payment of emolument taxes
- Proof of accommodation in Angola
AUTHENTICATION OF DOCUMENTS
The authentication of documents will be accepted under the following conditions:
- All document issued in Egypt and intended to be used in the Republic of Angola must be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Documents from other countries will be accepted only once authenticated by the respective Embassies in Cairo.
- 120,00 Egyptian Pounds fee for each document. Authentication documents outside Egypt must be paid in Money Order or Certified Cheque payable to the Embassy of the Republic of Angola.
APPLICATION BY MAIL
Applications receipts by mail take an extra day, if all documents are in order. Further mail applications should be sent with stamped envelope or pre-paid Federal Express, DHL or Priority Post to return the documentation. The Embassy does not assume any responsibility for other form of return process. Please do not mix with the visa fee, the amount to pay the return of your documents.

N.B. All incomplete visa applications will be rejected.
