Minsiter of External Relations

The Minister of External Relations Manuel Augusto entered for the Ministry of External Relations in 1981 and worked in Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Ethiopia.

In Abuja, Nigeria, he has served as first secretary, years later, in 1992, opened the Diplomatic Mission in South Africa, becoming the first Ambassador of Angola in this country.

Serving as an Ambassador, he headed, also, the Angolan diplomatic mission in Zambia, where have contributed to enhance the existing good relations between the two countries and which have been interrupted to return to Angola to occupy the position of Vice Minister of Social Communication, during five years.

Continuing his diplomatic career, Mr. Manuel Augusto, served as an Ambassador and Permanent Representative in Ethiopia and to the Africa Union and ECA, returned to Angola in 2010 to assume the post of Secretary of State for External Relations until September 2017.

At the international level, Minister Augusto has been in many occasions dispatched as a special envoy of President Dos Santos, participated in representation of the Angolan Head of State and as Diplomat, in several UN Meeting, African Union Summits, meetings of the Peace and Security Council of the AU and other international events.

The Minister Augusto has a B.A in Public International Law and a Master in Diplomacy, Diplomatic and Consular Law and Practice.
